Druids Glen Golf Club's name originates from the fact the
fact that a Druids Altar (stone altar of pre-Christian worship
in Ireland) stands on a hillside overlooking the 12th green.
But do not let this deter you from visiting a golf club that
many argue is the best inland course in Ireland and venue
for the Irish Open from 1996 to 1999.
From the first to the eighteenth, each hole has an individual
appeal and the mystique of Druids Glen creates an exceptional
golf experience. Most memorable of all the holes is the aptly
name 13th, The Snake Hole, a par 4 that begins from an elevated
tee box and then meanders through a gorge before arriving
at the green which is protected by a lake.
