Course Architect: Christy O' Connor Jnr.
Parkland Par 72.
Standard Scratch Score: 73
Length: 7,200 yards.
Galway Bay Golf Club is surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic
but is of parkland character rather than links despite its
proximity to the ocean. Designed to championship standard
by Christy O' Connor Jnr. of Ryder Cup fame and winner for
the past two years of the Seniors British Open title at Royal
County Down Golf Club.
Look out for some ancient Celtic sites which feature on the
course. There are many fine holes on this course, and Gary
Player an honorary life member, described the par 3, thirteenth
as one of the finest holes he has played.
